French broadcaster Canal Plus has claimed it will set an advertising first for its coverage of the second leg of the Uefa Champions League football clash between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, which takes place later today (Wednesday).
Spanish LaLiga club Barcelona heads into the game seeking to overturn a 4-0 deficit from the first leg in Paris.
The game kicks off at 8.45pm CET and Canal Plus will air an advert on its free-to-air general entertainment channel C8 at 9.02pm which will include live footage from the match.
Pay-television channel Canal Plus is broadcasting the game and the 60-second commercial is aimed to encourage C8 viewers to follow the rest of the match.
Canal Plus said the initiative marks a world first from a technical perspective and the first time a television advert will include live images.
The advert has been developed in collaboration with La Canal Brand Factory, Canal Plus Regie, Havas and BETC.
