The Paris Commercial Court has ordered Canal Plus to honour a sublicensing deal with fellow French pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports for rights to Ligue 1, the top division of domestic club football.

The ruling, reported by L’Équipe, means that Canal Plus will be required to continue to pay an annual fee of €332m ($339m) to beIN for rights to two Ligue 1 matches per week. The decision marks the latest win for beIN and another defeat for Canal Plus.
