Canadian public-service broadcaster CBC has agreed a rights deal for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games multi-sport event.
CBC will provide daily coverage across Canada via its television, radio and online platforms on the 11 days of competition between July 23 and August 3.
Glasgow 2014 anticipates a worldwide audience of 1.5 billion for its edition of the Commonwealth Games and the sale of broadcast rights packages are part of a commercial programme which aims to raise around £100m (€121.4m/$167m) in revenue through licensing, merchandise, sponsorship, ticketing and media rights.
