The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) will next week launch a tender process with a view to appointing an agency to assist in the commercialisation of its club and national team competitions.
The tender will launch in the week commencing July 10 and concerns the commercial assets of club competitions the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, as well as national team event the Copa America, from 2019 to 2022.
Conmebol said the services to be contracted include analysing competition formats, formulating a strategy for packaging commercial rights, drawing up a structured bidding process for these rights, commercialising the rights, the formulation of an after-sales service for rights holders and advice on broadcast production.
Conmebol said in a statement: “This process constitutes a new advance within the integral strategy to generate more value for football.”
Agencies will be permitted a month to respond to the tender, with a fortnight of this time given over to questions and answers over the process.
