Content Arena aggregates non-live content in wake of Covid-19

Content Arena, the online media-rights trading platform, has moved to promote its archive of non-live multi-sports content for sale in the wake of Covid-19’s ongoing effect on the sporting calendar.

The platform has made a wide range of documentary, highlights and archive footage available from rights-holders subscribed to the platform as a way to provide alternative revenue streams as numerous events, competitions and tournaments are postponed or cancelled during the pandemic.

Sports currently covered include boxing, motorsports, sailing, and outdoor and winter sports, with more content expected.

Content Arena was founded in 2017 as a media-rights-sales disruptor to operate along the value chain by pairing relevant buyers and sellers of media rights, facilitate transfers of funds and handle legal paperwork.

The platform had anticipated that agencies would be able to monetise their non-premium rights.

Myriad competitions have been either cancelled or postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has posed serious questions for global rights markets.
