Greek pay-television broadcaster Cosmote has retained exclusive ATP Tour rights for another three seasons, strengthening its grip on the property until 2026.
The agreement allows the telco to show all the ATP Masters 1000 and ATP 500 tournaments, plus 36 ATP 250 tournaments, the ATP Finals and Next Gen ATP Finals.
The content amounts to over 2,000 hours of live coverage each year, while Cosmote will continue to air its ‘Topspin’ magazine show at 7pm (EET) on Monday evenings.
Cosmote announced its current three-year rights agreement in 2021, the year in which Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas reached a career high of number three in the world.
ATP Media, the ATP Tour’s international media rights sales and broadcast production arm, distributes its worldwide broadcast rights in conjunction with the IMG agency.
ATP Media netted a three-per-cent rise in global broadcast revenues to $135.6m (€124.6m) in 2022. Live broadcast rights sales typically represent the lion’s share of ATP Media’s revenues, supplemented by subscriptions to Tennis TV, the OTT streaming service, revenues from ATP Tennis Radio and archive rights sales.
