CyTA claims exclusive rights to Uefa club competitions

Cypriot telco CyTA has secured exclusive rights in the country to the Uefa Champions League and Europa League club football competitions.

The three-season deals run from 2018-19 to 2020-21. CyTA said that as of August, CyTAvision, its IPTV service, will broadcast all matches from the two competitions on a live and exclusive basis.

CyTA currently shares the rights for the 2015-16 to 2017-18 cycle with public-service broadcaster CyBC.

CyBC acquired free-to-air rights for the first-pick Europa League match each week. CyTA acquired all remaining Europa League rights and all rights to the Champions League.
