Video-sharing website Dailymotion has expanded its sports content portfolio after agreeing a partnership with English Premiership rugby union club London Wasps.
The deal will enable Dailymotion to carry official videos from the club on its website. Wasps will also use the Dailymotion player for all content uploaded on Wasps TV, a dedicated video section of its new website.
Supporters will initially have access to a back catalogue of 175 videos, a selection that will increase as new videos are regularly added. Content will include interviews with players and coaches, training clips and match highlights.
The club will also be able to determine what content can be shared by Dailymotion and the advertising it will carry.
Marc Eychenne, head of international content at Dailymotion, said: “We pride ourselves on an editorial approach, and the addition of exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content from one of the most popular rugby clubs will add a new dimension to our existing sports offering.”
