OTT sports platform DAZN will show exclusive coverage in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain of two of Latin America’s most prominent club football tournaments, the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
The arrangement, which also includes coverage of the annual Recopa Sudamericana between the winners of the two tournaments, will run from 2019 until 2022.
The competitions are operated by Conmebol, the South American Football Confederation.
DAZN has also secured a one-year deal to stream Conmebol’s 2019 edition of the Copa América in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
DAZN’s football rights portfolio across different territories already includes the Uefa Champions League, the English Premier League and FA Cup, LaLiga and the Copa del Rey in Spain, Italy’s Serie A and Coppa Italia, France’s Ligue 1, North America’s Major League Soccer and the Japanese J1-League.
Separately, DAZN Group is part of a joint venture with the IMG agency called FC Diez Media, which advises Conmebol on exploiting its club competition commercial rights across Latin America.
