The European Handball Federation has reduced the shortlist of bidders for the audio-visual and marketing rights to its raft of competitions to four candidates.
Seven bidders initially submitted bids for the rights covering the 2020-30 period.
Final offers are expected to be submitted by January 18, the EHF said.
The rights include the Champions League, EHF Cup and Challenge Cup club competitions, as well as the EHF Euro national team tournament, youth events and beach handball competitions.
Tender documents were provided to more than 25 qualified companies, with the process starting on September 18. The process was handled by Munich-based media consultancy firm SN1 Consulting.
Interested parties were permitted to bid for seven audio-visual rights packages and three marketing packages on a modular basis across all club and national team competitions.
The EHF said in June that it would switch to a new method of marketing its rights for its showpiece competitions. Currently, the Infront agency is responsible for the marketing of EHF Euro events, while the MP & Silva agency markets rights to the Champions League.
