Eleven nets Fiba rights in Taiwan

International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has struck a rights deal in Taiwan with Fiba, basketball’s global governing body.

The agreement will run for five years, from 2017 to 2021.

Under the deal, Eleven Sports will show live and exclusive coverage of the 2017 Asia Cup, the 2019 World Cup and the 2021 Asia Cup.

The 2017 Asia Cup will feature a women’s tournament in India from July 23-29 before a men’s competition in Lebanon from August 8-20, while dates and destinations for the 2021 Asia Cup have not been confirmed. The 2019 World Cup will take place in China from August 31 to September 15.

The coverage will be shown on Eleven Sports’ linear channels and OTT streaming service. The agreement was brokered by Fiba Media, the strategic partnership between Fiba and digital media group Perform.
