International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has extended an agreement for exclusive rights in Taiwan to football’s English Premier League.
The new three-year contract covers the 2019-20 to 2021-22 seasons. Eleven said the deal was agreed directly with the Premier League for the first time.
Eleven will have exclusive rights to all 380 games each season, with at least six matches each week to be delivered in the local language. Exclusive highlights and near-live clips for social media are also included in the deal.
“Through our efforts the Premier League is becoming increasingly popular in Taiwan, and in particular we have seen our young audience (18-29-year-olds) grow significantly.” Simone Kang, Eleven Sports’ managing director in Taiwan, said.
“Agreeing this new partnership with the Premier League reiterates our position as the go-to destination for football fans in Taiwan.”
