Algerian state broadcaster ENTV has acquired rights for football’s 2015 African Cup of Nations and handball’s 2015 men’s World Championships, according to reports.
The sublicensing deal for rights to the African Cup of Nations, which will take place in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8 and will feature the Algeria national team, was struck with pay-television broadcaster beIN Media Group.
The deal includes coverage of 12 matches, including the opening game, Algeria’s three group matches and all games from the quarter-final stage onwards, and is worth a total of $12m (€10m), according to the Algerie-Focus.com website.
News website l’Expression DZ said that ENTV will also show several games from the handball tournament, which will take place in Qatar from January 15 to February 1, after agreeing a sublicensing deal with beIN Media Group.
