French pay-television broadcaster Equidia Life, a specialist channel for equestrian sports, has acquired rights for events during the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Equidia Life struck the agreement in a sublicensing deal with French public-service broadcaster France Télévisions. Equidia Life will show coverage of the Games’ equestrian events, which will take place from August 6-20.
TV Sports Markets first reported the deal on June 26.
France Télévisions has already agreed a sublicensing deal for coverage of the Games in 2016 and 2020 to pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus.
