Greek public-service broadcaster ERT has acquired rights to events operated by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
The five-year deal covers the 2017-2021 cycle of Fiba events.
Under the agreement, ERT will show all of Greece’s games at this year’s EuroBasket Women tournament, which gets underway today (Friday) in the Czech Republic, as well as the men’s EuroBasket event, which runs from August 31 to September 17 in Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey.
ERT will also show the national team's qualification campaign for the 2019 World Cup, as well as the final round of the event. The deal also grants ERT rights to the qualifiers and final round of the 2021 EuroBasket tournaments.
Additionally, ERT will broadcast all Olympic qualifying tournaments for the 2020 Games in Tokyo, and Fiba-sanctioned world and regional youth events.
The agreement was brokered by Fiba Media, the strategic partnership between Fiba and digital media group Perform.
