ESPN secures Champions League pay-television rights in Oceania

Oceania sports pay-television broadcaster ESPN has concluded a three-year deal for the Uefa Champions League rights in the region, from 2012-13 to 2014-15, as first reported by TV Sports Markets last week (TV Sports Markets 16:13).

ESPN has acquired pay-television rights to Uefa’s top-tier club competition. It will show two matches each match night across its ESPN and ESPN2 channels. ESPN will also show four delayed matches each week, plus a highlights programme.

The deal includes mobile and internet rights.

The Team Marketing agency, Uefa’s global sales agent for the media rights to the Champions League and Europa League, brokered the deal.
