The European Athletics governing body has confirmed that it will continue to live stream coverage of its various events after multinational food retail chain Spar extended its sponsorship of the service.
Spar’s extended deal will run until the end of 2015.
The new deal will enable European Athletics to live stream coverage of five major events this year via its website.
The service also includes the facility to rewind action whilst viewing live coverage and watch video-on-demand of an event shortly after its conclusion.
Live streaming and the video-on-demand service can be accessed worldwide, with the exception of territories geo-blocked by Eurovision, the television producer operated by the European Broadcasting Union.
The European Athletics Indoor Championships, which took place from March 6-8 in Prague, Czech Republic, was the first event to be covered by the deal.
The live streaming agreement also incorporates the European Cross Country Championships – of which Spar is the title sponsor – European Athletics Team Championships, the European Athletics U23 Championships and the European Athletics Junior Championships.
