Pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport has agreed a three-year deal for the exclusive rights to the Uefa Champions League club football competition in Singapore.
Eurosport’s deal with European football’s governing body runs from the 2015-16 to 2017-18 seasons and represents a new partner for Uefa in Singapore. Telecommunications company Singtel currently holds rights for the Champions League in a three-year deal running from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
Eurosport has acquired rights to all 350 matches each season. It will broadcast one live match on Tuesdays and one live match on Wednesdays for the entire season. A highlights show will follow each live match and all additional games will be made available to viewers online through OTT.
Peter Hutton, chief executive of Eurosport, said: “Champions League on Eurosport in Singapore is a game changer for our presence in Asia.
“Eurosport already boasts an improved line-up in Asia with both US Open tennis and the Tour de France. With the addition of mid-week live premier football in Singapore, we will ensure Eurosport becomes even stronger across the region.”
