International sports broadcaster Eurosport has linked up with social media platform Facebook in a move designed to enhance its digital coverage of the 2018 winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Daily highlights, clips and interviews from Eurosport’s Olympic coverage will be posted on the broadcaster’s official Facebook page in key European markets, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Norway.
Eurosport has also launched a dedicated mobile digital studio moving between Pyeongchang 2018 venues and is producing social-first clips with athletes, social media influencers and fans during the Games.
Eurosport is delivering live and on-demand coverage of Pyeongchang 2018 across all screens in 48 countries, with its digital platforms to provide more than 4,000 hours of coverage from 100 events. Eurosport will also deliver 900 hours of live action throughout the Games.
Eurosport is also working with digital influencers such as Josh Carrott and Ollie Kendal, hosts of the Korean Englishman YouTube channel. The Korean Englishman will stream a daily 45-minute Livestream show called The Afterparty, which includes appearances from Eurosport talent, athletes, fans and fellow influencers. Eurosport will leverage Facebook to amplify highlights from The Afterparty and other influencers to communities on the platform in Europe.
The Games got underway on Friday and will run until February 25.
