Pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport has agreed a two-year extension, covering the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, to its rights deal for German football’s Bundesliga across 22 territories in the Nordic region and central and eastern Europe.
The agreement, first reported by TV Sports Markets on October 25, has been struck with DFL Sports Enterprises, the league’s commercial arm.
The deal renews Eurosport's exclusive television and digital rights, including sub-licensing rights, for all matches from the top-tier Bundesliga and second-tier 2.Bundesliga.
The deal covers the markets of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.
All live Bundesliga action will also be available in the licensed territories on the Eurosport Player, the group's online subscriber simulcast service for mobile, PC, tablet and connected television users.
Eurosport started broadcasting the Bundesliga in 2009 and extended its initial agreement with DFL Sports Enterprises in 2011.
