Danish broadcaster TV3 Sports, part of multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster Modern Times Group, has teamed up with top-tier Superligaen football club FC København to develop its in-house online channel.
TV3 Sport said that initiatives arising from the partnership would set new standards for club channels in Denmark.
Under the partnership, FCK TV will broadcast live from FC København’s Telia Parken stadium after home games and provide live coverage from the team’s bus or hotel during away matches.
FCK TV will also offer live reserve team games and selected youth team matches along with coverage of training sessions.
The Copenhagen club will remain responsible for producing content, while TV3 Sports will provide expertise in the fields of technical production, distribution and sales.
TV3’s sports manager Peter Nørrelund said: “We look forward to getting started and hope that the cooperation with FC København can provide a model for how club TV can be developed in Denmark. Luckily there is plenty of interest in the Superligaen, but with this kind of club television we can boost this interest, and we are in dialogue with other clubs about something similar.”
