Dutch pay-television channel Eredivisie Live will be rebranded as Fox Sports Eredivisie ahead of the start of the 2013-14 season of the top football division in the Netherlands, according to the Media Magazine website.
The report also said that the Fox International Channels (FIC) broadcast subsidiary of media conglomerate News Corporation would launch two new pay-television sports channels, understood to be branded as Fox Sports International channels.
The website added that the Fox Sports International channels will show action from the English Premier League and Italian Serie A top-tier football divisions after FIC outbid incumbent rights-holder, pay-television broadcaster Sport1, for the rights in a deal with the MP & Silva agency in April.
Last year Fox acquired a 51-per-cent stake in Eredivisie Media and Marketing, the media company that owns rights for the Eredivisie and controls Eredivisie Live. Through the 12-year agreement, spanning 2013-14 to 2024-25, Fox controls the live and highlights rights to the Eredivisie.
