World football’s governing body Fifa has opened an invitation to tender for the worldwide in-flight and in-ship media rights to the 2018 World Cup, the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
In-flight rights allow for audiovisual coverage of the national team events on a live and/or delayed basis for reception by means of any in-flight entertainment system.
In-ship rights allow for audiovisual coverage on a live and/or delayed basis for reception aboard cruise ships in international waters.
The dates for the tender process were not disclosed, with companies wishing to submit a tender requested to contact Fifa TV via Inflight-Inship@fifa.org for further details.
The 2017 Confederations Cup and 2018 World Cup will be staged in Russia, while France will host the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
