Fight Sports, the CSI Sports-owned linear sports channel and digital service, has acquired exclusive broadcast rights in Africa to next month’s heavyweight world boxing title fight between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr.
The fight will take place on December 7 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Fight Sports agreed the deal with Skill Challenge Entertainment Establishment, a Saudi Arabia-based sports and entertainment agency.
Joshua and Ruiz will contest the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles on the newly launched Fight Sports channel, which will be available on e.tv’s OpenView platform across Africa.
Ruiz defeated Joshua in the first fight between the pair, which took place in New York in June.
Earlier in the week, media company Nordic Entertainment Group (Nent) acquired exclusive rights in the Nordic region to the fight. Nent will show the fight on its Viaplay streaming service as a pay-per-view event.
