The English Football League has launched an in-house programming division to create and distribute a wide variety of content across multiple platforms.
Football League Productions will work with existing and new content partners, clubs, sponsors and fans to develop new formats for television, online and radio relating to clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two – the second, third and fourth tiers of English football.
FLP has already aired some of its work in collaboration with Soccer AM – a weekly magazine programme on pay-television broadcaster BSkyB’s Sky Sports platform – in the form of behind-the-scenes coverage at League Two club Portsmouth.
FLP’s work with Soccer AM means it will follow a League One club from November through to January before taking on a Championship team for the final third of the season.
Further programming and distribution information will be announced in the coming weeks, but the Football League said FLP will ensure that more live matches from its Capital One Cup competition will be offered to viewers overseas.
