The Fox Sports South and SportSouth divisions of US network Fox have become the exclusive regional broadcasters of Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball games after acquiring rights for a further 45 games.
The deal will run until at least the end of the 2013 season.
Fox Sports South and SportSouth will share the 45 games, which were previously broadcast by local pay-television broadcaster Peachtree TV, to expand their existing deals to cover the Braves.
Fox Sports South will broadcast a total of 72 games while SportSouth will show 80 games during the 2013 season. The broadcasters will also share coverage of six spring training games, starting from March 13.
“We are extremely happy to consolidate these 45 additional games with our current partner, Fox Sports,” Atlanta Braves executive vice-president of sales and marketing Derek Schiller said. “This agreement makes it easier for fans to follow our team and aligns our interests of continuing to have the highest quality, award winning broadcasts with the championship calibre Braves baseball teams.”
