Fox Sports extends Uefa rights deal in US, Caribbean

The Fox Sports division of the Fox network has extended an exclusive rights deal in the US and Caribbean to show the Uefa Champions League and Europa League club football competitions.

The deal will run for three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

Fox Sports has been the English- and Spanish-language rights-holder in the US and Caribbean for the Champions League since the 2009-10 season, and has had rights for the Europa League since 2012-13.

Under the new agreement with Uefa, football's European governing body, Fox Sports will broadcast 146 Champions League games per year on a live and delayed basis. The action will be shown on the Fox network, pay-television channels Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2 and Fox Soccer Plus as well as Fox Sports regional networks.

Fox Sports will also provide all Champions League matches live and on-demand through its broadband platforms Fox Sports Go and FoxSoccer2Go.

Fox Sports will show 205 matches per season from the Europa League across multiple Fox platforms. Fox Sports 1 is slated to broadcast two live Europa League matches per week, while Fox Sports 2 will show two live matches per week and repeats of the Fox Sports 1 matches. All matches will be shown live on the Fox Sports Go mobile app.
