Australian pay-television operator Foxtel has acquired rights to the 2016 College Football Sydney Cup, which will act as the season-opener of the 2016 National Collegiate Athletic Association College Football Championships.
Fox Sports will broadcast the game at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on August 27 between the University of California’s Cal Bears and the University of Hawaii’s Rainbow Warriors.
The contest will mark the first college football game to ever be played in Sydney and the first in Australia since games in Melbourne in 1985 and 1987.
Sports broadcaster ESPN will broadcast the game in the US.
