Australian pay-television operator Foxtel has entered into a three-season partnership with English Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur.
Under the deal, which runs from the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons, Foxtel will become the team’s international broadcast partner in Australia.
Foxtel’s pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports will integrate a three-hour weekly programme featuring content from the club into its regular sport coverage.
Fox Sports will also begin broadcasting Spurs TV, which includes various content and features from the club’s in-house video service.
Content will be made available to Foxtel residential and Foxtel Play subscribers on the sports pack.
Foxtel has been seeking to sign deals with clubs having lost the rights to broadcast Premier League games. The company already offers content from the in-house channels of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
In November, Foxtel was dislodged as the league’s rights-holder in Australia by telecommunications company Optus, which acquired the rights over three seasons, from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
