The German Handball Federation (DHB) has struck a four-year extension to its partnership with the Lagardère Sports agency.
The contract was previously extended from 2014 to 2020 and will now run through to 2024.
Under the deal, Lagardère Sports will continue to market the media and marketing rights to Germany’s men’s and women’s national teams.
Mark Schober, chief executive of the DHB, said: “After the European Championships in Croatia we look forward to continuing the very successful cooperation with our long-time partner. We have made a huge leap in marketing again in recent years and intend to expand a cooperation with Lagardère Sports that is already at a high level.”
In other news, the DHB and Lagardère Sports have announced a first, with an upcoming national team game to be streamed exclusively live via social media platform Facebook.
The initiative has been backed by Mitsubishi Motors, the automotive manufacturing arm of Japan’s Mitsubishi Group, which has been a sponsor of the DHB since January.
The women’s team’s European Championship qualifier against Spain in Stuttgart on March 21 will be streamed via Mitsubishi Motors Germany’s Facebook page.
