The Sportdeutschland.tv online-streaming platform has acquired rights for the German 2. Handball Bundesliga second tier in a sublicensing deal with pay-television broadcaster Sky.
The online platform, which is operated by the German National Olympic Committee, has secured a deal to run for the next two seasons, from 2018-19 to 2019-20.
The agreement was reached after a successful trial period covering the closing stages of the 2017-18 campaign.
Sportdeutschland.tv will be able to offer live coverage of all 380 games per season, with the action also available via the HandballDeutschland.tv online platform. All of the contests will be available on demand, with various highlights formats also accessible.
