Golden Boy to launch new boxing channels on FilmOn TV Networks

Boxing promoter Golden Boy Promotions has secured a partnership with streaming service FilmOn TV Networks to launch two new channels dedicated to the sport.

Golden Boy Channel and The Ring will go live at the end of January and will be available as part of FilmOn.com’s advertising-supported OTT service.

The deal was agreed between Golden Boy Promotions chairman Oscar De La Hoya (pictured) and FilmOn TV Networks chief executive Alki David.

Golden Boy Channel will show De La Hoya’s classic fights, while Golden Boy Promotions’ monthly boxing series, LA Fight Club, will be streamed on a bi-weekly basis on The Ring.

The Ring will also stream the undercards of many of the events broadcast by pay-television service HBO Boxing.

As part of the agreement, De La Hoya will also host a new combat sports talk show with guests such as boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and mixed martial arts stars Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm. The show will be broadcast on FilmOn TV Network's pay-television channel, FOTV, which is available on satellite-television platform Dish Network in the US and pay-television operator Sky in the UK.
