US pay-television broadcaster the Golf Channel has acquired live rights to the National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s and women’s division one golf championship in a multi-year deal which begins in 2014.
The Golf Channel will begin showing coverage from the men’s division in 2014, and from the women’s championship in 2015.
The deal marks the return of live television coverage for the women’s championship for the first time since 1997.
The Golf Channel plans to supplement the live coverage with comprehensive television and online news coverage throughout the year.
