Media consultancy Henry Birtles Associates has entered into a partnership with horse racing company the Stronach Group to distribute international television rights to the inaugural Pegasus World Cup Invitational event.
The event, which with a purse of $12m (€10.7m) has been billed as the world’s most lucrative thoroughbred horse race, will take place on January 28 next year at the Stronach-owned Gulfstream Park racecourse in the US state of Florida.
HBA will exclusively distribute rights to the event to broadcasters around the world.
The Pegasus World Cup Invitational will comprise 12 entrants that have each paid $1m to compete. The winner of the race will earn a world-record $7m, with owners to share equally the income from betting, media rights and sponsorship.
