German pay-television broadcaster Sky Deutschland has acquired exclusive rights for Marco Huck’s World Boxing Organisation cruiserweight title defence against Krzysztof Głowacki on August 14.
The fight, which is taking place in New Jersey, US will be shown live on the broadcaster’s pay-per-view service, Sky Select. The clash with unbeaten Polish boxer Głowacki represents a first bout for German fighter Huck (pictured) in the US.
In May, Sky Deutschland chief executive Carsten Schmidt said that the pay-television broadcaster had “no ambitions regarding a stronger entry in boxing” following its decision not to acquire rights to future fights featuring heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko.
The May 2 world welterweight clash between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Junior was shown on Sky Select and the June 7 middleweight title clash between Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale was also shown on Sky Deutschland’s pay-per-view service.
