US subscription video-on-demand service Hulu is to expand its sports coverage into the esports market after agreeing a development and production deal with the ESL organisation.
Hulu will work with the ESL to produce four unique series exclusive to the video-on-demand platform.
‘Player v Player’, ‘Bootcamp’, ‘Defining Moments’ and ‘ESL Replay’ will include coverage of ESL events, as well as feature pieces on athlete training, news and industry trends.
Hulu will add the first ESL-focused content to its service this autumn.
Nik Adams, senior vice-president of global media rights and distribution at the ESL, said: “Esports appeals to a younger, more digitally-savvy audience, so Hulu is a perfect platform to build out our original content and expose the world of esports to new audiences.”
