IMG Sport Video Archive, a division of the IMG Worldwide agency, has been selected by the International Rugby Board to be the official archive partner for the World Cup tournament in a seven-year deal that will run until the end of 2020.
IMG Sport Video Archive will manage footage and programming for all previous World Cup tournaments from the inaugural event in 1987 through to the last event in New Zealand in 2011.
The deal will also include the two upcoming tournaments – England 2015 and Japan 2019.
IRB Sport Video Archive’s online platform will provide access to the 281 World Cup matches played to date. Both full-length coverage and highlights will be available.
The footage on offer can be used for television, mobile or online media platforms.
