The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is to stream live coverage of the 2018 winter Paralympic Games on its website through an agreement with the International Olympic Committee and its Olympic Channel.
More than 300 hours of coverage will be streamed live on Paralympic.org using an Olympic Channel digital player.
Daily highlights from all events will be available across the IPC’s digital channels, while fans can access live results and the latest Games news on Paralympic.org.
The winter Games will take place from March 9-18 in Pyeongchang. Paralympic.org coverage will begin with the opening ceremony this Friday.
Meanwhile, the IPC has said it expects this year’s winter Games to attract a record international television and social media audience.
An all-time high of 47 rights-holding broadcasters will show coverage of the Games in at least 100 territories around the world.
According to the IPC, at the 2014 Games in Sochi, a cumulative audience of 2.1 billion tuned in to watch the action, with 1.4 billion of those located outside the host nation, Russia.
Alexis Schaefer, commercial and marketing director at the IPC, said: “What is greatly encouraging is that not only do we have more broadcasters but many of them are also dedicating more air time across all platforms than previous Games editions.
“Through traditional linear and online coverage, we are confident that we will see an increase in the international audience enjoying the Games outside of the host country.”
