The International Surfing Association has named the Broadreach Media agency as the exclusive distributor of its media rights in a host of territories.
Broadreach Media will be responsible for allocating rights in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific Islands and Asia, with the exception of Japan. The ISA will also consult the agency over the packaging and production of its World Championships.
It will distribute rights to the World Surfing Games, the World SUP (StandUp Paddle) and Paddleboard Championship, the World Junior Surfing Championship, the World Adaptive Surfing Championship, the World Bodyboard Championship, the World Masters Surfing Championship and the World Longboard Championship.
“The ISA is constantly working to expand our visibility and promote surfing on a global scale, especially now that we have entered a new era for the sport with Olympic inclusion,” ISA executive director Robert Fasulo said. “We are looking forward to working closely with Broadreach Media, as this relationship will further strengthen our strategy to increase our global reach and spread the joy of surfing around the world.”
Last month, surfing was added to the programme of events for the Tokyo 2020 summer Olympic Games, along with baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding and sport climbing.
