UK commercial broadcaster ITV has extended its rights deal with sports promotion company Matchroom Sport for the second edition of snooker’s Champion of Champions tournament.
ITV provided live coverage of the inaugural 2013 event on digital channel ITV4 and will continue to do so when it returns to Coventry’s Ricoh Arena from November 3-9.
Snooker returned to ITV for the first time in 20 years earlier in 2013 when the broadcaster showed coverage of the Haikou World Open.
As well as reigning champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, players who have already earned an invite for this year’s Champion of Champions include UK Championship winner and world No.1 Neil Robertson, Ding Junhui, whose five ranking titles in the 2013-14 season included success at the German Masters and China Open, and Championship League victor Judd Trump.
