Killane: EBU heads into Olympics tender with ‘unity of purpose’

The European Broadcasting Union consortium is heading into the International Olympic Committee’s European broadcast rights sales process with a greater “unity of purpose” around the rights and combined digital prowess, according to Glen Killane, executive director of Eurovision Sport, the EBU’s sports arm.

The IOC launches its invitation to tender in Europe today (Thursday) and the EBU will be among those looking to challenge incumbent Discovery, which defeated the free-to-air body during the last auction in 2015.
