KPN deal completes set for Fox’s Eredivisie channel

Dutch cable-television provider KPN has signed a carriage agreement for the new Fox Sports Eredivisie and Fox Sports International pay-television channels.

The deal follows earlier distribution deals between Eredivisie Media and Marketing (EMM) and Ziggo, UPC, Canal Digitaal Satelliet and smaller operators such as Delta Kabel, ensuring that the channels have secured agreements with the country’s main cable television providers.

The KPN deal adds another potential 1.9m households to Fox’s footprint in the Netherlands.

Eredivisie Live has been rebranded as Fox Sports Eredivisie after Fox last year acquired a 51-per-cent stake in EMM, the media company that owns rights for the top division of Dutch football and controls Eredivisie Live.

Through the 12-year agreement, spanning 2013-14 to 2024-25, Fox controls the live and highlights rights to the Eredivisie.
