LaLiga, the organising body of the top two domestic football leagues in Spain, is to launch a direct-to-consumer streaming service in China after finalising a six-year agreement with Streamline Media Technology.

The service, to be marketed as LaLiga Plus, will provide live coverage of all 380 matches from the top-tier LaLiga Santander and all 462 regular-season and play-off matches from the second-tier LaLiga SmartBank. LaLiga will operate a ‘freemium’ model comprising a combination of pay-per-view and free-to-access coverage.
