Learfield expands college portfolio with New Mexico State deal

The Learfield Sports agency has expanded its presence in the US college sports market by signing a multimedia rights deal with the athletics division of New Mexico State University.

The agreement with NM State Athletics will run for seven years, from the 2015-16 season through to the end of the 2021-22 campaign. The deal could be extended by up to five years, through to the 2026-27 season.

Learfield will manage the multimedia rights for all NM State Athletics teams. The deal will cover various rights related to television, radio, digital, event marketing, corporate sponsorship, signage and hospitality.

Learfield will also establish a ‘NM State Sports Properties’, a local entity that will work with Mario Moccia, director of athletics at NM State, to manage the rights.

Learfield has partnerships in place with approximately 100 university athletics departments and conferences in the US.
