French digital-terrestrial television channel L’Équipe 21 has acquired rights for the International Motorsport Federation (FIA) World Endurance Championship.
The channel will show coverage of every round of the 2016 championship. Most of the first two rounds – at Silverstone in the UK on April 17 and at Spa-Francorchamps on May 7 – will be shown live, before the remaining six rounds are broadcast live in full.
Earlier this week, L’Équipe 21 reached an agreement with pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport to acquire rights in France to the International Motorcycling Federation’s Endurance World Championship for two seasons, from 2016 to 2017.
L’Équipe 21 also has rights for the World Rally Championship and World Rallycross Championship.
