French digital-terrestrial television channel L’Équipe 21 has acquired rights to the International Volleyball Federation’s (FIVB) World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo, Japan – which represents the final chance for France’s men’s national team to qualify for Rio 2016.
The tournament will run from May 28 to June 5, with L’Équipe 21 broadcasting games live along with multiple replays due to the time difference between France and Japan.
France will open its tournament campaign against China on May 28. The national team missed out at the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Berlin, Germany in January, finishing second after losing to Russia in four sets in the final.
