French digital-terrestrial television channel L’Équipe has agreed a rights deal for International Judo Federation events through to the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
L’Équipe will broadcast all major events from the judo season live, including World Championships, Masters, Grands Prix and Grand Slams.
Coverage will commence with the opening round of the 2017 World Tour, which takes place in Paris on February 11.
France is a major force in international judo and came second in the medal table for the sport at the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Teddy Riner (pictured) and Émilie Andéol claimed gold for France in Rio.
