Internet operator LeSports has agreed a one-season sublicensing deal with the Super Sports Media agency for English Premier League football rights.
The Yutang Sports website, citing state news agency Xinhua, said the digital-rights deal is in place for the forthcoming 2016-17 Premier League season.
The deal will enable LeSports subscribers to access the Premier League’s full package of 380 games in 2016-17 on an over-the-top basis. Le Sports will also be able to offer 230 free-to-air Premier League matches through PCs and mobile devices.
The remaining 150 games will be exclusively screened live through Super Sports’ digital channels.
Super Sports Media, founded in 2010, distributes sports programming through television, internet and other platforms in China. It holds exclusive rights in China for the Premier League to the end of the 2018-19 season.
