The Ligue Féminine de Basket, the top division of club basketball in France, will live stream the majority of its games for free in what it described as a “revolutionary” move for the competition.
The initiative will commence with this weekend’s set of games. The live streaming will be provided via the LFB TV platform.
All games will be live streamed aside from those chosen for coverage by the league’s partner, pay-television broadcaster SFR Sport.
The initiative has been made by possible by the LFB’s 12 clubs choosing to equip their arenas with the Keemotion automated production service.
LFB president Philippe Legname said: “In the year of its 20th anniversary, the Ligue Féminine is taking a new step in its media process and I am convinced that this initiative will allow us to increase our visibility, both for players and clubs.”
