BBC director-general Tim Davie has today (Monday) issued an apology and has stated the UK public-service broadcaster will review its social media guidance, after the corporation’s football coverage and wider sports output was decimated over the weekend amid the furore surrounding the suspension of leading presenter Gary Lineker.
